The proven Gomecsys VCR Technology
The only VCR technology with the complete VCR system on the crankshaft
The Gomecsys Generation III VCR technology is delivering a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emission of 18% in the European Driving Cycle without downsizing. The complete VCR system is integrated on the crankshaft which gives the possibility to modifie excisting production engines with variable compression ratio technology with a minimum change in engine architecture. Whether it's a 4 inline, 3 inline, 2 inline or a V-type engine. The Gomecsys VCR technology is applicable on all engine types and will offer 18% fuel and CO2 reduction on all gasoline engine types.
18% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emission without downsizing
Fuel consumption reduction is at least 3 times more then with other "only" VCR systems.
Normal "only" VCR technologies offer a fuel reduction of about 5%. The Gomecsys VCR technology offers at least 3 times more fuel and CO2 reduction, because the VCR functionality is only one of the efficiency enhancing technologies that the Gomecsys VCR system offers. In addition to the capability to vary the compression ratio between 18:1 and 7:1 the Gomecsys VCR technology also offers:
1. An overexpanded engine cycle with a 10% longer expansion stroke as compression stroke.
This additional feature of the Gomecsys VCR technology offers an additional 3% fuel reduction.
2. A 10% reduction of the intake stroke (and volume) when running in part load (high CR).
The reduction of the intake volume in part load makes the engine smaller and because of this it more then compensates the normal increase of pumping losses that is required with normal VCR systems.
3. A 5% reduction in engine friction reduces fuel consumption with 2%.
The eccentrics rotate around the crankpins with only half the crankshaftspeed realizing the reduction in friction. Quit special: more parts, less friction. Most VCR systems give a slight increase in engine friction.
As shown in the above picture the end result of a VCR system is highly depending of the additional benifits or backdraws of a VCR system. The additional efficiency enhancing features of the Gomecsys VCR technology boost the overall result to a staggering 18% fuel reduction without downsizing. This is a proven result from dyno and real driving measurements. Not from simulation only.
The effect of VCR combined with downsizing
Combined with downsizing the Gomecsys VCR technology offers 38% fuel and CO2 reduction
Downsizing adds an even greater fuel and CO2 reduction potential to Variable Compression Ratio.
The Gomecsys VCR technology offers almost 40% fuel reduction when combined with 50% downsizing.
Normal "only" VCR technologies offer around 25% fuel reduction when combined with 50% downsizing.
The torque output of a VCR engine is around 200 Nm per liter intake volume, which is twice the torque level of normal engines. This means that when a car equipped with a 2,4 liter 4 inline engine with 240 Nm torque and a fuel consumption of 8 ltr/100km, the same car equipped with a 1,2 liter (50% downsizing) 3 inline engine with the Gomecsys VCR technology, will have the same torque of 240 Nm but the fuel consumption and CO2 emission are reduced with 38% : which results in a fuel consumption of just under 5 ltr/100km. CO2 emmision is reduced from 186 g/km to 115 g/km.
