FRICTION REDUCTION
With the GoEngine diesel technology the friction is reduced in two ways:
- Bearing speed of the eccentric and bigend are running with half the crankshaft speed which results in a lower friction compared to the normal big-end bearings that runs with eqaul the crankshaft speed.
- The variation of the compression ratio makes it possible to reduce the compression ratio up to 12:1, a level where peak pressure is lowered to levels at 120 bar (in stead of 200 bar) and as such reducing peak bearing load and peak friction point.
